Our focus has always been on high level of photographic quality, overcoming the limitations of any camera when compared to the ability of the human eye. That's not to say we make our panoramas look better than they actually are, but rather more accurate and therefore more meaningful and credible. We like to think that people who experience our tours and then see the real thing don't have any unexpected surprises - rather they say: "That's the same as what I saw on the internet!". Part of this includes careful assembly of our panorama masters by hand, resulting in the flawless images that we provide.
Unlike most producers of virtual tours, our tours are shot using a specially modified video camera and always have been. This gives us a great deal of flexibility in that we can shoot many versions of a tour with different exposures, given that every frame of video is actually a photo. Once back in the studio we can then work with all captured elements as needed for the greatest outcome.
All cameras have a limited ability when it comes to handling colour, exposure and contrast when compared to our eyes. To overcome this - and using our video capturing methods - we're able to select portions of different capture versions and combine them carefully into a seamless master which creates the 'natural' appeal and visual credibility. Sometimes we might utilise up to five different exposures as well as different colour balances in order to get a scene looking just right.
Like our Flythrough Interactive Tours, any production we make actually has multiple versions available including QuickTime, Flash and Java.
